When you're little, you have outrageous dreams of being and/or meeting your favorite character. As most little kids, I had that dream as well. It was even better, though that my meeting of my favorite character was at the "happiest place on Earth".
Although it may not be my most youngest memory I have, one of my earlier memories was meeting Ariel from The Little Mermaid at Disney World. I remember not even caring about all the rides or even the flashy floats and attractions at Disney aka Florida's tourist hub. I just wanted to go to Ariel's grotto. I had prepared for this too. I watched the movie at least 3 times if I could remember (maybe even more if you count the ride there). Upon entering her grotto, I was speechless. Well more so shy because I couldn't think of how to strike up a conversation with a mermaid. It was an amazment to be in a presence of a mermaid considering I wanted to be one. She was so nice, and exactly how I imagined she would be. I couldn't have been happier leaving the place (as much as I didn't want to leave).
On top of meeting her, I also got her autograph. Highlight of my day, and probably at the time my life. I had no notebook or paper for her to sign, so I gave her the next best thing; my hat. That hat was treasured for the longest time. I never wore it again, afraid I would ruin her signature. I still have it to this day too. Her signature is still in tact, and it still reminds me of one of the happiest days of my life at the age of 4.
